Kendra Ballantyne is a full time, hard hitting lawyer in L.A.  She has recently had her right to practice law reinstated and is anxious to keep it that way. So she is less than pleased when she is assigned to work with the elderly and cranky law partner, Ezra Cossner, on a real estate case that may be a no win situation.  But she is willing to take a chance on Ezra since he is the proud owner of Gigi, the blue macaw that loudly shares his office. But Gigi becomes an orphan when Ezra is found shot to death in his office. Kendra's nemesis from the past, Detective Ned Noralles, is determined to hang the murder on her all too sexy boyfriend, P.I. Jeff Hubbard.  It is up to Kendra to figure out who had a reason to murder Ezra before more bodies appear.

In addition to her job as up and coming  lawyer Kendra is a professional pet sitter. In between cases she makes the rounds of her dog walking, pet visiting duties. It is a job she started to pay the bills when her law practice was on hold and it is one she does want to give up. So in addition to 10 hour work days, Kendra and her own dog Lexie stay busy checking up her 4 legged charges, and ocasionally, their 2 legged owners. With Jeff seemingly over involved with his ex, Kendra's neighbor is looking better all the time- not just her client Beggar but also his attractive owner Russ.

Linda O. Johnston has created a wonderful new addition to the ranks of amateur detectives.  Kendra Ballantyne is the feisty, intelligant, caring professional we all want our daughters to become. The well timed humor used through out the story sets it above the current crowded crop of cozy mystery series. Johnston's ability to blend  pet love, mystery and romance into one well wrapped  package  make this a summer treat for mystery and pet lovers alike.

Fine-Feathered Death is the third installment in the Kendra Ballantyne, Pet Sitter Mystery Series.
