Getting From College to Career, subtitled 90 Things To Do Before You Join the Real world, is a well ordered discussion of all the many aspects to be considered when entering the job market for that all important first job after college. After all the time and ever increasing college costs it is more important than ever to be sure that those long college years pay off.

This book should be read by all college students at the beginning of their college years (perhaps even at the end of their senior year of high school), in the middle and again when they graduate. This guide could help students choose a major in college, not only a career after they graduate.  Making a career out of a passion (Tip # 20) and choosing a useful minor (Tip #53), among others, are very applicable for those just starting their college years. Other tips such as what to wear for professional dress (Tip #80) or how to negotiate for a first job (Tip #78) are for those entering the work force.

The tips are laid out to be easy to read and include sections such as "make this work for you" which make it even more useful. The "make this work for you" gives the reader assignments which adapt the tip to his specific situation. The fonts, section dividers and high lighted sections all work well together to create a well thought out resource guide. It can be read all the way through but readers can easily zero in on the parts most applicable to their current life.

It is difficult to think of any aspect of entering the work force that is not covered in this comprehensive resource. This would make an ideal gift for both seniors in high school and seniors in college.
