This children’s book is made up of beautifully written letters and prayers.  The letters are from God and the prayers are from a male child.  This 101 page book is a little bit longer than an average children’s book but each page holds a letter that God is either writing to a child or the prayer that the child is composing to god. Each duo holds a certain message intended for the child reading the book to absorb.

The messages that this book hold are issues regarding how God wants this child to deal with conflict, how to obey rules, how to treat his family, etc.  These are all values that a lot of parents try to instill in their children.  If this is the case, then this book is a great tool for parents to use.  The pictures are entertaining and appear on every page, so that will help to hold the attention of any age child.

Also on every other page is a verse from the bible.  Religion needs to be a familiar part of the child’s life for this book to be read and understood because the whole book is based around god and the bible.

The prayers that the child recites in this book are very real-like because they do not portray the child as perfect.  They portray that all children have faults and that even though that may be, god still has a place in his heart for all.  I think this is an important aspect for children to understand.  As long as they continue to learn from their mistakes in life, they do not need to be perfect.

My criticism for this book would be the pictures. Although they are entertaining and well done, there is not enough variety.  Some pages repeat the same pictures.  Because this book is rather lengthy I think that more color and variety of pictures should be added to help the child to stay focused.  On the other hand though, I think this book could be read in installments.  Since each page is filled with a value, parents may decided to only read a few at a time to their children so that they can absorb and practice them, and then move on to a few more.

All in all, this is a great children’s learning book for those families out there that have a belief in god and are familiar with the bible.
