I
hope all you readers have some uninterrupted time to
yourselves because you’re not going to want to put this book down!
Vicki Delany
has created a mystery story that is juicy, full of life, full of
excitement and
has a handful of A-one characters. The ending will leave you with your
mouth
hanging open in astonishment, and nodding your head in approval at the
great
work the Trafalgar police do in solving the case.
Moonlight
Smith, known by most as Molly Smith is a police
officer in the small town of Trafalgar, British Columbia.
Her job is tough because she was born and
raised there and so all of the towns’ people know her from when she was
just a
little girl; enforcing the law and being taken seriously is a sensitive
issue
for her. With a murder taking place in this usually peaceful town,
things start
to really heat up.
The
town is divided on an issue involving a piece of land
that a deceased man has left in his will. Some, including the
not-so-well liked
man who was murdered, are fighting for the land to turn into a resort
to draw
more tourists and jobs to the town, and others, including Molly’s mom,
want to
turn it into a peace garden honoring all of the war dodgers. Even
though Molly
is new to the force and is only a beat cop, she is asked to help
Sergeant
Winters on the investigation because of her knowledge of the town and
their
politics. The case seems to go cold, with no good leads, but the debate
over the
land really fires up, with people causing riots, making threats, and
getting
into fights.
After
going cold for a while, the police get a few good
clues and the investigation goes into full swing. You won’t want to
miss out on
the outcome of this murder! Molly Smith
finds herself in a whole lot more danger than she could have ever
imagined.
On
top of all of the drama already going on, Molly’s long
time friend has a stalker. Molly has tried to convince her friend to
contact
the police and get a restraining order. Her friend finally agrees, but
Molly
isn’t at the station to meet her, so she goes home, frustrated. One
night her
stalker goes too far and Molly finds her friend in her house severely
beaten.
On top of the murder investigation, Molly now finds herself wracked
with guilt
and worry over her friends attack. Could it be connected to the murder?
