Will You be My Friend is a book for preschoolers that explores the
concept of friendship. Bob the Brush invites three other brushes
to help him fix a colorless rainbow. But when Blue Brush is mean to
Yellow Brush they must learn to work together. A happy ending shows the
way conflict can be solved by working together as friends.
The book is done in a simple, child friendly format of bright colors,
glossy pages with a simple plot and appropriate vocabulary. It is quite
appealing. The story is told in both sentences and with the use of
speech bubbles. The use of both allows the child to see how the
characters interact to solve their problem without becoming too wordy.
The characters are basic and familiar to all- brushes, pencil and such.
It is rated for ages 4+ but seems like younger ones would also enjoy
it. Literature with the book says there are related resource books that
are available also.
