The topic of bullying is a prevalent on in today's schools and society. The Baseball Buddy  is one of the series of books from "The Bully Series." The series is "Adventure in SportsLand" and includes 8 books each based on a different sport. The books include a CD that have the story narration, interviews with characters, coloring book, songs, and more. The plot is the typical bad guys, here "Hoo Doos," versus the good guys, "TeamMates." The Hoo-Doos cheat, the TeamMates win.

The book is written in rhyme, the sound of which will appeal to its younger listeners.
"Keep in mind that the fair rod is the one to choose
Then no matter the score, you will never lose."

Or

"High above any cloud is a place called SportsLand.
Where the hame of baseball is so very grand.
Bats, balls and gloves go to sleep for the night,
and dream of the next game they will play right."

The illustrations are cartoon characters of bats, balls and gloves. They are drawn in a way that does not seem appealing to the target age group, almost too bright, twisted and scary.
